Work

Information Technology Technician - Intern, State of Hawai'i Department of Labor & Industrial Relations

The Hawaii Government IT provides on-site technical support for state offices and agencies across the islands, specializing in the setup and configuration of government-issued computers and secure network systems. Our team designs, deploys, and supervises office networks to ensure reliable connectivity, data protection, and compliance with state IT standards. We offer hands-on troubleshooting for hardware, software, and connectivity issues, and support remote access solutions such as VPNs and inter-office communication platforms. With a focus on responsive service and public sector needs, we help keep Hawaii’s government operations running smoothly and securely.

2025 - Present

Lead Avionics Engineer, Hawaii Space Grant Consortium

As Team Lead for the Hawaii Space Grant Consortium, I guided a team of interns in designing and launching a NASA-sponsored high-powered rocket aimed at achieving specific flight goals such as target apogee and successful recovery. I was responsible for developing the avionics bay, where I programmed microcontrollers to interface with sensors that measured altitude and controlled the timed deployment of drogue and main parachutes. I also integrated a GPS tracking system to ensure safe and accurate post-flight recovery, while coordinating team efforts and maintaining compliance with NASA’s technical and safety standards throughout the project.

2023 - 2024

Participant / Builder, AeroPAC (ARLISS)

At the ARLISS event with AeroPac, I built and launched my own high-powered rocket, using simulation software to predict its flight path and ensure a safe recovery. It was an incredible hands-on experience—designing, testing, and refining my rocket alongside fellow enthusiasts. I also earned my Level 1 High Power Rocketry Certification from Tripoli.

2023 - 2023

RockOn Workshop Participant, NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration

At the ROCK ON NASA Workshop at Wallops, we designed and built custom PCB boards equipped with sensors and an Arduino, programmed to collect flight data. After integrating our payload into a high-powered sounding rocket, we launched it into the upper atmosphere and analyzed the recovered flight data.
